Okay? Yes. Good? No.

 

Why did you buy the DCU II? They are well known to have thermal issues, making them no better than reference.

Technically it is since Hawaii can run at 95c, but personally that's too hot.

That's strange for an aftermarket cooler to run that hot.

Is 94C on Unigine valley benchamark ok for a Direct CUII 290? Yes I know it runs hot, but I am just wondering if it is safe. :/

94C is hot, pretty sure the R9 290 is designed to run up to 95C, but max out at 100C.

I know you're running a benchmark, but that is hot, in my opinion.

That's pretty average for a 290. They usually linger around 90-95c on stock cooling, but since the DirectCUII is known not to work well with AMD video cards, this would explain your temps.
