21:9 monitor opinions

Hello Everyone!
I was looking up a new choice of monitor, and fell in love with the 21:9 model monitors, and really think that is the choice for me, but since there is more pixels to control, I assume it takes more GPU power? So 3 questions:
- Is a nvidia GTX 780 enough for a 2560x1080 monitor?
- What about for a 3440x1440?
- Has anyone tried working/gaming on these massive screens? Are they too much? I'm afraid i might regret  if they're to big for working (mostly Excel/word,dreamweaver).
In advance thank you! :-)

Get a 290 instead, Got wider Bit bus meaning it will handle these Massive Resolutions better than the 780

it can power it just fine, hell i played Far Cry 3 on a 670 at 5760x1080 at med/high graphics :D ran at about 30 fps, which made me lower the settings, but it works :)

Edit: and yes AMD handles big res better than nvidia, the higher the res the better amd does.

I wouldnt go 21:9 unless i was getting the 3440x1440 monitor 2560x1080 is pointless and stupid u should just a get a 1440p monitor.

also to answer your question the 780 should run it.

When you say the 780 should run, does that mean games included? I'd really prefer if i could get atleast 60+! And what would the best AMD solution? :-)
