Cursing

I never curse in front of my parents or any other adults, but I do curse when something goes wrong.

I fucking curse aplenty on this forum. Even the mods curse!

It certainly does not, people in general on the internet love to feel as if they have some kind of leg up over another person, thus using IQ and other minute things such as grammar, even when contested in negligence of their own behaviour.

 

 

I know you are not being bad here, but you are typing an ignorant statement.

Knowledge and intelligence are two separate things. One could have a high fluid IQ and not have a great memory or cognitive capabilities, or collective knowledge of things, even might only have basic linguistic skills, while another could have a low IQ, have an eidetic memory and know everything about the English language and know how to construct syntactically and grammatically correct.

Quite frankly I find people who don't swear and are smug about it to be more offensive than the word cunt.

Well to be fair, where we come from calling someone a cunt can be the same as calling them a mate lol.

Why are so many people against it, if they are not used in a mean way then they are totally fine to use they are just words after all.

depends ...., i only agree with someone cursing on an angry situation where there is a statement that will only be stated Strong enough with cursing, how ever i don't agree with someone who is just hanging out with some friends or family and cursing all the time, like his words has to contain cursing, it's wrong, specially if some new guy/girl joined the Group and say is religious or hat those strong words, so you it would be way out of respect for each other like we all sound hardcore with no manners but the truth is, we all should care about behaving our selves around other people .

After studying linguistics for a semester, it gave me a new perspective on language. For Western societies and language, since there are no real connections with a word and it's meaning (think about it, why is a dog called a dog?) an emphasis has to be put on the actual word and not the meaning. Look at "cunt" for example (I don't find it offensive but others do), it's another word for "vagina", "pussy", etc. but for some reason, some people get 13/10 offended at the mere mention of the word.  

 

After working in a restaurant for a long time, swearing became very common for me, even more because my boss didn't give a damn about us swearing, e.g. I called a group of very annoying, drunk and unpleasant women a "pack of cunts".

I don't like cursing. All it does is just gets people into trouble.
