Ram issues, help me please.

Hello, i have installed 8gb (4x2) memory on my pc but now it says 3.95 gb "for use" or "available" and i do not know why. If anyone have the same problem or can help me please help.

Reinstall the 64bit version of your OS but backup all your data to a usb or external HDD first!

one memory might have failed or came loose

 

i say shut down and re install the RAM and boot into BIOS to confirm 8GB RAM if still say 4GB only then one of them is faulty

your windows bootup memory is probably set to 4gb in ms config.

 

- click on start run: type: msconfig  hit enter

- click on boot tab > advanced options.

- Then uncheck max memory.

- Reboot.

sorry to ask but mind telling us the mobo brand and model you are using?

 

i suspect it may be a chipset limitation or i may be wrong

than I will have to say you might need to backup and reformat your OS

alt + print screen keys when you're in the CPU-Z window, paste link with ctrl+v in paint/some other image editing program, save as jpeg/jpg/png. Upload to photobucket/imgur (recommend this one)/imageshack/whatever other image hosting site, copy the .jpeg/jpg/png share link and post it here. Can also click the little picture when posting to have it wrap your image url in tags so it shows on your post as an image.
