New here, sorry if this is in the wrong area.

I've been using Graphene for several years and one of my relatives expressed interest in the OS so I set them up with a fold 9 pro running GOS.

They've been using it since September of last year with zero issues. However, recently it just wouldn't turn on. (so I've been told)
Here's what I've done to attempt to troubleshoot:

  • holding the power button, it shows the google logo, shows the booting into a different OS message, then the screen goes black.
  • Holding the on button and volume up button for 30+ seconds shows the same thing
  • When booting into recovery mode the google logo shows for several minutes, then switches to the booting into a different OS message, then black screen again.
  • When the phone is in fastboot and I plug it into my PC, the PC recognizes the device but I can't really do anything since the bootloader is locked.
  • When loading into rescue mode I saw the google logo for 4-5mins, then loading OS screen, then back to google logo briefly then back to loading OS screen, then black.

The loading a different OS message is yellow, not red as I've seen some people having issues describe.

I found this post on the grapheneOS forum of someone with a similar issue but I couldn't find their solution, nor do I know how to dump getvar.

This person uses two phones (a newer iphone along with this fold, don't ask me why)

These kind of things are why I just leave my bootloader unlocked.

- If you can get into recovery you can try and flash an update (a partial reflash of the OS).  It doesn't sound like this is an option.

- There was a post on here recently similar to this, and the person had to fully run down the battery, charge it then it booted. See this post.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that post and do an update in a week or so.
