BazziteOS Graphics Broken

Hey gang! Just installed BazziteOS, and it’s not behaving well. The graphical issues are so bad and just wondering for help. I used the KDE (steamOS like) installed and I have a GTX 1660 Super, which it said it’d work in.

It doesn't do this on desktop mode

I had the same behavior when I tried it on my 1660Ti laptop. I'd recommend installing the desktop environment and just have Steam Big Picture mode start automatically

Most Linux distros have no issues with NVidia GPU, why do you specifically want Bazzite ?

You can just install Fedora and Steam on it, or use another "easy" distro like ZorinOS or Mint

I think they are trying to use the steam game mode session, not to be confused with just launching in big picture mode, its the gamescope compositor along with some additional steam flags, which has issues with non AMD GPU's. The only place valve actually supports it is their SteamOS builds.

 

Based on their original post, the desktop session is fine.

Yeah desktop session was perfectly fine, even after I turned on dev mode and force composite the game mode was at like 15 fps in the menus. If I try it again tonight I'll try the desktop environment iso
