Beyerdynamic DT990.

Warm with enjoyable tight bass, phenomenal clarity. And they're open back so they have a wider then average soundstage which is always a good thing imo, especially for gaming.

An unlimited budget? Then skip all the middle classes, and go right to 'the one'

or if you don't mind buying used item (because it's discontinued), try to find a used Sennheiser HE90. Old stuff, but still regarded as 'the best there is'

*you can find written and video reviews all over the net and youtube, none of them have any complaints about the sound quality of these

HD 650 or maybe K712 are probably the warmest cans with the best soundstage that are reasonably priced.

But with 'unlimited budget', there shouldn't be such thing as 'reasonably priced' anymore....:P

*hell, if I have 'unlimited budget', I'd pay Norah Jones to sing in front of me....

Please be realistic

I am being realistic, as realistic as can be. Those are real headphones, the best headphones in the world, and they fit the 'unlimited budget' condition. By its very definition, 'unlimited budget' = no limit = any price goes. Ask yourself this: if someone come to you asking your opinion on buying something, with him having unlimited budget, would you recommend second or third or forth best, or straight to the very best there is?

I get your point but I was expecting some more affordable prices.

What's affordable to you isn't what's affordable to other people. Please give us your idea of affordable.

I mean some where around 250 pounds (420 us dollars)

250 pounds is FAR from 'unlimited budget'....

If only the budget was stated in the original post, instead of just saying 'unlimited budget'

At that budget, maybe go with the HE400. HE500 would be better, but it's $599...

HE400 are 300 pounds unless you buy used xD

I don't think that's a good choice unless he's buying used considering they might need an amp and that would be even more money.

I would say Phillips Fidelio X1 or AKG K612 but those are a bit under budget especially the AKGs. Getting the used pair of HE400 and a Fiio e6 amp is also a good option and will probably sound the best if you want to spend all of your budget.

You are not allowed to say 'unlimited budget' if your budget is not unlimited. Your budget isn't remotely unlimited or even high.
