Any good 27" HDR 1440p 120hz, IPS with good enough color for $400 or less out there ?

I put $400 because if you use US pricing, it will be $100-$300 more one it reach here.

Preferably it also has USB-C as a display connection, but yeah..., not 100% important.

Availability might also be an issue since I live in Indonesia, not all models reach this place

So if you need a site to look for availability, it's www.tokopedia.com

For more details :
I lock most games to 120 or 144hz

I play in bright room, like 14,5 watts white led bulb, 3m x 3m x 3m room.

The king of the 27" 1440p space for well over a year now has been the AOC Q27G3XMN  (and its similar Best Buy exclusive brother the Q27G40XMN) but they're VA (which is preferred for serious HDR work anyway, all the best MiniLED HDR TV's are VA for a reason).

$250 US for positive reviews from essentially everyone whos tested it and full VESA certified DispayHDR 1000 specs.

The only thing you're getting thats MiniLED backlit (necessary for any sort of competent HDR performance) in IPS would be something like the Cooler Master Tempest GP27Q but thats $400 US and probably not worth it. (isn't on rtings unfortunately but Tim has covered both suggestions.

Urghh... I'm too used to IPS.

I think the last time I used VA was a cheap samsung a decade ago.

But yeah, even if I can squeeze out the money for it (costs $650-$700), IF i can actually find someone who really has stock of it.

Though your reply makes me wonder whether those miniled means i have to worry about burn in like oled or not.

Sorry if its a stupid question, never delved much into monitor tech.

I saw the follow up video by HwU on that one

Seems quite bad after the firmware update to make VRR usable while in HDR mode.

Though idk if CM has fixed all the shittery by more firmware update now, but yeah.... dunno if we can really find out about that without proper review.

Budget wise, I can go a bit more than it.

That one's price in my country is $400 after converting IDR to USD. I can go like $50 more if needed.

I mean there are ok monitors as listed above, but I wouldn't bother focus or expect much in that range. That said may able to get cheap OLED within price range on sale.

Chance of burn in is what makes me still not that interested in buying oled tbh

It's no issue really, unless you abuse display from dusk till dawn with static content constantly.

I don't baby my monitor, just always fullscreen YT that's it. Also they really got fairly low price these days if you look entry models.

So you have monitor that less long than lifespan of OLED burn in, looking to buy a monitor, but you're scared of burn in?

Nah, I usually use monitor until there's a line on the panel, even if its only a $55 one. Actually used a cheap samsung until there's two lines on it long while ago.

My previous monitor was just a cheap 75hz LG 24MK430H-B, used it for like 3-4 years i think.

Changed to current one because I finally felt I need more pixel real estate and the 120hz due to PC upgrade from entry level PC to medium high.

Like I said, currently thinking to change monitor BECAUSE I feel like trying HDR, or else I'd just go with my current monitor, since i actually quite like it.

IF i buy an oled, will I change it to a new one befre burn in?. IF there's a new tech that is significant enough to make me want it, maybe.

But it's not like I change whenever there's a new tech that looks fancy. And when I do change it's usually awhile after the tech is released.

Or I'd be using OLED already, since color & contrast is actually important to me, no?

I get it. I did from times to time. Though I feel fine with wnd confident from what I've seen that it shouldn't be an issue. Some used it for years on on older panels and are good.

Eh well, for now I feel like it's a risk I dont wanna deal with yet.

I get your point about HDR at my price range and how is it compared to oled though
