that's not "like new", that's a heavily damaged board in a pretty critical area.. there's quite serious cracks in the pcb material, if they arent a problem yet, they might expand from the pressure of the cooler mount.

i sure as hell wouldnt risk it for a $100 discount...

Iam thinking of a full refund. But if it works with this much "discount"

They are willing to refund 78$ and I can test it, if it doesn't work as it should i can get a return.

looks as if they applied a lot of force when mounting a cooler.

That bends the motherboard forcing the socket downward while holding the area of the board around the socket steady.

If they used enough force for the back of the board to be damaged like that, probably 99% chance that the traces and connections within the board around the socket are damaged.

I wouldn't even think twice about it, return for a full refund if possible.

Will it be wise to get more discount on it or just buy a new one?

Get anything else. This is guaranteed to be broken.

This is basically guarabteed to break eventually in the short term.

Any reason you need such an expensive board? Even budget 1851 boards run the highest chips with ease.

I know. But the color and works great with royal z silver and my white 5070 ti trio 😂

The extra bucks is for the color and looks not the what it can do more than other boards 🤯

Definitely damaged so not as described but I wouldn't expect it to be a problem, there should be large enough keepout zones around holes in the design anyway. Does it work or not?

This looks harmless to me.

I'm surprised at the reactions here.

Edit : now that I've seen the cracks on the main side...still that area around the holes shouldn't be used for traces

You're not considering the pressure of the cooler and expansion/contraction over time as the board heats up and cools down.  It might be fine now, but the chances of those cracks getting bigger and working their way into the traces is quite concerning IMO.

Its a gamble I wouldn't be willing to take personally given any short in the traces could take out other components in the process.

It seems we don't even need to think that far,

If I understood correctly, he has a few reasons not to keep that motherboard, so be it.

If it dont have an effect i would consider to take it.

But if it can crack further and damage my other components, I will get a new one instead

To me it's safe enough, to me it depends on money matters, I'm not in position to judge that

Edit : it seems the tiny dots mark traces and tiny dots come pretty close to that cracked hole so it seems to be more of an issue than I thought

It's 188$ but I think it's going back

And have to cash out for a new one 🥲
