Remote Desktop to Windows 11?

Besides buying a Pro upgrade license? Not that I'm aware of.

 

Can you use a third party solution like VNC or Parsec? (Please don't port forward VNC or RDP to the public Internet.)

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

Looks like you're aware you cannot remote log into that desktop without a pro version of windows. You can use a third party program like TeamViewer, RealRNC, AnyDesk.

 

I guess Google offers a Chrome Remote Desktop as well now, but I'm not as familiar with it.

Buy a Win 11 Pro key off any of a number of sites or Ebay for less than $20.  Enjoy.

In addition to the above, IIRC just the server component of RDP is locked behind Pro. If you need to RDP to something else, that you can still do on Home. 

 

And yes, upgrading to Pro is as simple as acquiring a key and hitting a few buttons in the Settings > System > Activation screen.

 

Personally I prefer Parsec.

As "grey" markets aren't inherently illegal or operate under a malicious pretext. Parsec is free for personal use, and allows secure remote access via a web portal.

 

VNC is an open standard with many implementations. Personally I've used TightVNC for many, many years. It's GPL-licensed and works great over a local network, but you'll need to access that local network over a VPN if you want to use the machine away from the building where it lives. mRemoteNG is a great client application, especially if you're going to regularly access multiple machines.

 

The freebie tier of TeamViewer used to be great, then it got enshittified. If you see old recommendations for it, disregard them.

You install Home and enter a key for a Pro version. Or download the official ISO and choose to install Pro version. You can't go the other way around except very specific instances, if I recall correctly.

If you mean grey market, they are hit or miss. Some times they can work, other times they dont. Or some times they work but MS black lists the key later. I personally wont touch them. 

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
