Chrome update... passwords gone!

Not the first time, but somehow different than how I remember it... my passwords are still saved in google password manager (last time they were all gone there too iirc), but how do I re-import them to chrome, if at all possible?

What happens if you uninstall and reinstall Chrome? Does it during the setup ask to import passwords from somewhere?

Do you think that would fix it?  Sounds risky... Will it also remember my theme /add ons etc?  (they're all synced supposedly, but ... )

I've been using Firefox for a long time now so idk about Chrome....

I thought I remember you using Firefox aswell, atleast I remember you posting about it I think

try logging out of your google account in chrome, and log back in.

That's a good idea, it was weird it said I need to "verify" but it didn't log me out, visually at least...then I verified and it said "signed in" so I never actually fully logged out I guess.

Yeah I'm using Firefox a lot but most of my logins and especially email acc are in chrome, I transferred many logins to firefox too, but yeah chrome is somehow more convenient and just has more stuff for daily use.

 

The thing is similar stuff happened a few times already and reinstalling usually means you lose all customizations and most settings... It'll probably keep your bookmarks but that's it.

 

It's a huge pain to set up the theme especially (not *really* safe for work so I can't really post it lol... Basically just a custom image, "dark" theme, with white background for all sites... 🫨)

Well that didn't work - no change... 

 

But what's weird, as said, chrome doesn't have my passwords ("Google password manager") but Google does ("Google password manager"....)

 

So now I go to site A in chrome... No password... 

I go to site B, no password...

I go to site C and that logs me in automatically...? (everything done in chrome obviously) 

 

BUT chrome "google password manager" doesn't even have that password, because it literally has 0...

So that doesn't make sense at all. I suppose a synching issue, but wow... that's so bad, I also don't see a resync option.

Well this is really weird on my laptop everything is there as if nothing happened.

 

Maybe i should really try reinstalling.
