Hi, so my relative is watching these webinars and wants to record them for later viewings, is there a free program that allows her to do that. She wants to record the video and sound from them. Thank you

I believe a 2hr video is around 3GB. And as far as I know, there is no recording limit. If there is, it's 10+ hours.

DXtory isn't free.

Shadowplay can only record games ATM, and not even all.

Bandicam places and dumb advert at the top of the screen if you don't pay.

Shadowplay can record the desktop

Since when?

Since it was first released?

Thats how it record stuff! It can't record windowed mode, only the full screen. What shadowplay does it take whatever is going to your monitor and records it at the original resolution. No windowed mode, no changing the capture size.

While still cool, OBS is still better. A semi-recent update has allowed for Nvidia GPU acceleration with video processing. It doesn't use the CPU to encode.

Shadowplay uses the built in H.264 encoding of your GPU to encode on the fly with almost 0 performance loss :D

Basically lag-less recording!

OBS does that too... It uses the X264 encoder. H.264 isn't an encoder, it's a codec ;)

Last time I checked I could record the desktop using Shadowplay.

Depending on the way the webinar is streamed you could use VLC to record the network stream from the URL of the video, I think.
