What are these?

Those are called headers. Motherboard manuals explain what those are in detail. From left to right they are called HD Audio connector (for front panel audio on your case), clear cmos (incase you do something that causes no post issue in bios), chassis fan header 2, most likely front panel io header, USB2 header.

What exactly are you referring to?

 

English is not my first language, so please excuse any confusion or misunderstandings on my end, also I like to edit my posts a lot.

Best thing to do when you're unsure of what headers do what is to lookup the board on the manufacture's website, get a copy of the manual. The manual generally has very clear indications of what each header does and what its used for. For the headers you showed, Levent is 100% correct. If the front panel io header is not clearly marked on the board, the manual will show you what each individual pin is for. This is where you will connect the power switch, reset switch, power led, and hdd activity led.
