Low System Requirement FPS Games

Hey,

My lil cousin has a pretty weak rig:

Processor AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+
Video Card ATI Radeon HD 3650
Memory 3.1 GB
Operating System Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 6001), 32-bit

I'm looking for some FPS multiplayer games and good co-op games to play with him.
Any suggestions on games that:
a ) can run ok on his rig
b ) has populated servers (on multiplayer, doesn't matter for co-op)
c ) isn't too expensive?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Oh,you have the same CPU as I used to have! That one will bottleneck very hard. But the GPU is pretty bad too...so I don't know.

Combat Arms

http://combatarms.nexon.net/

Can't say it's that it's a great game though.

Mainly because Nexon and community ;P But it has some nice gamemodes.

I suggest:

-Battlefield 2: Project Reality Mod ( realistic combat shooter MP, 1.2 out )

- Valve games (   portal 2 (coop), l4d, team fortress...)

-Killing Floor ( works on any system and its fun! Especially with custom maps ( the hive ) with friends on closed server)

- Quake Live: free, not pay2win, one of the best multiplayer FPS ever created after Quake 3 Arena
- Left4Dead: cheap and good for co-op
- Killing Floor: as above
- Warsow: similar to Quake Live but with CPMA physics (basically movement requires more skill than Quake Live) and a little less players

Valve games generally are optimized as they aren't that expensive!

Have fun ;)

Would really recommend CS GO as an low end FPS game. Its not more than 10USD and got lots of value.  But all games running source is a safe bet. Valve got maybe some of the industry's best optimization. Even their newest games like left 4 dead runs at almost anything.

Anything that runs on the Source engine.

Fistful of Frags is a new (and free) source mod you can find on Steam and is pretty fun, maybe try that out.

CS:S, maybe CS:GO.

UT2k4 would also run fine.

SWAT 3 and 4 should also run just fine.

Battlefield Bad Company 2

CoD MW, MW 2, MW 3..

QUAKE LIVE

Before you play any more online fps games try that game, it's pretty much the apex of the genre.

After that I guess you can move on to bf1942 (although I heard they're shutting down the servers soon :( ) and others.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
