I was hoping that someone could tell me that the Harmon/Kardon brand headphones or speakers are woth buying. Their electronics are featured are featured in high quality car companies. With that said does it also make their other stuff like computer speakers and heaphones very high quality and worth buying? Or is it just average stuff slapped with a fancy name?

harmon international owns jbl and akg.

but I do not know if r&d or products are shared/rebranded.

kind of like denon/marantz but I have heard there that r&d isn't shared.

Will work for electronic components and parts

I recently purchased a set of JBL J-88 headphones that sound decent enough.  JBL is either affiliated, or owns, or is owned, or somehow the same company as Harmon Kardon (I'm not sure really)... but I would say they make good stuff.  But that's just my opinion when I do a comparison of their headphones to my Sony MDR-7506 or my Sennheiser HD360's.  The JBL J-88 were/or are on sale recently at Amazon.  The advertisement for their brand said that their products are in the new high tech THX theaters, stadiums, studios, etc... so I would assume they have an excellent reputation with the professionals as well.

Oh, well in that case... in my home theater I have a 7.1 set of Infinity speakers (w/Klipsch powered sub), I can say that they make quality stuff for home use.  So back to the original poster... if you have your eyes on something made by Harmon Kardon, I would not hesitate to make the purchase.

Was going to say the renowned AKG is owned by H/K. I think H/K bought AKG after AKG got their products out though (not in the same group from the start). I tried one of the H/K headphone that's still branded H/K (not AKG) http://www.amazon.com/Harman-Kardon-BT-Headphones-Technology/dp/B00A3R3U2U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401565073&sr=8-1&keywords=harman+kardon+bt

Sounds quite good, but priced a bit  high, because of the BT, I guess....

Also I'm using H/K satellite speakers (3W each) for my PC, and they certainly sound above average.

I thought the J88 sounded rather boring for the price. That said, the price has come down substantially recently...

My only experience with pc speakers made by H/K was good,  they were small speakers, but unlike most other brands they were full range (they didn't eq or hide the midrange to compensate for thin plastic enclosures).

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

The CL's aren't half bad, but your money is better spent on a different brand.
