Hello,

Love the videos !

This is my setup :

CPU : Intel Xeon E5-2699 V4
MOBO : EVGA X99 Micro 2 (BIOS ver. 2.08)
MEM. : G.Skill Trident Z 3200 128gb kit (4x32gb)
Graphics : Acer Biftost Intel Arc A770
Storage : WD NVMe SN850X 2tb (C drive) running Windows 10 Pro
Storage : WD Red Plus HHD 10tb (D storage/backup drive)

My problem is : I had an I7-6850K as CPU prior to the upgrade to the Xeon chip and everything worked fine.

Now, after the CPU change, the Trident Z RGB software won’t post. In task manager, I can see the processes (Gamer.exe and hid.exe) using up 3-4% of the CPU, but nothing. I went on G.Skill forum for some help and they mentioned to enable “DRAM SPD Write” yet I cannot find it in the bios.

Help please !

Thanks,
Angelo

Did you try emailing EVGA support, as was suggested in their forums? https://forums.evga.com/DRAM-SPD-Write-on-X99-Micro2-m3627825.aspx

Other than that, I would not really consider the Xeon an upgrade for a gaming machine. It's essentially the same CPU generation (both from 2016). Most game engines can't take advantage of that many cores, so they don't provide any benefit. In turn, the lower maximum clock speed means you get less performance per core and many games (that primarily care about single core performance) will run slower as a result.

try openRGB or something.

gskill software not working is most likely a bios issue and i doubt EVGA are gonna update their bios now for it (but asking is free anyways)
