Hello, this is a long shot, I know. My boyfriend is a huge LTT fan, and I know nothing about tech. Recently, we were watching a video together, the video titled " The fastest CPU in the world," when, at the 6:14 mark, my boyfriend spotted @LinusTech's necklace. I have no idea what it is, just that it's some square tech piece, (again, I know nothing about tech LOL) but I think my boyfriend mentioned something about a GPU. I will attach an image in case I am incorrect. Upon seeing this necklace, my boyfriend was ecstatic, claiming that he needed one. So, here I am, a few weeks before Christmas, attempting to come in contact with someone who may know where he got it from, or who may be able to get in contact with him to ask. Any help is greatly appreciated, as again, I am aware this is a long shot. Thank you 🙂

It looks like the main GPU from a video card, as CPU's are not normally a square in a diamond (or I guess a diamond in a square)

However CPU's do look nice, and can be made into jewelry as well.

TO be a square the CPU must be a little older, which makes sense for jewelry since you can pick them up for a few buck on ebay.

Looks something like this, which shows the front and the back.

Here's another screenshot. I think it might be one of these: https://airestech.com/pages/lifetune-flex

  1. It's expensive
  2. It's snake oil

I hope @dkoudijs is right and it's something like a GPU or a CPU.

Maybe have a look at something like these: https://chipscapes.com/products/item052-amd-ati-rv620-terascale-gpu-necklace-bronze-dark-green-silver

even if it is that, linus has done a couple of videos debunking these, but its been a few years, so it may be time to refresh viewer's knowledge

Yeah, pretty sure it's something along those lines. I very much doubt he'd fall for one of these or take them as a sponsor. Just pointing it out to OP that it's not something worth getting. Better to look into old CPUs or GPUs turned into jewellery.

Yea @sand_dune it really appears to be the lifetune-flex.  There are people from reddit who also mentioned Linus talking about it on wan show pre-show...seems like maybe a debunking video coming?

Anyways, if it is that product I would say stay very clear away from it, unless if you feel the looks of it matches what you are willing to pay for a product that is just being purchased for that...looks alone.  Not even necessarily quality, but the look of the thing.

II can tell you now though, if you are looking into it do not trust any of their marketing claims.  The whole "clinically proven" just screams scam all over it...actually I remember.  Actually products like this always reminds me of a video like this

There are many "negative ion" or even "EMF" products that end up having radioactive products in them.  Not saying that this does, but always put up your guard on said products, as they are pushing to scare you into believing it's safer.

Just wanted to make this warning very clear, as I agree with what Eigen said in that it's snake oil and expensive snake oil at that...but also important to realize that it goes beyond that sometimes and can be actually harmful (not saying this one is, but I am always fearful of products like that...even if I think it looks good).

Anyways, the second link Eigen provided I think is a good one if you are looking for a computery look to it...there is also something like this which I think matches the style as well

Good god people are stupid if they're buying that garbage.

I wouldn't say people are stupid, just misinformed and don't necessarily have knowledge in things.  There are a lot of things in life that are actually serving no useful purpose that people end up doing because they think it does do something.

Really this shows the lack of enforcement and lack of punishment towards companies that exploit peoples fear by spouting unproven claims.  The whole "clinical study" stuff can be so misleading, even medicines these days that have no effect can actually claim things like that sometimes.

@LinusTech can you fill us in on why you are wearing this device? Seems to be some snake oil BS preying on people's misplaced fears. Just saw you wearing it again in the latest video, and I initially just thought it looked interesting.

I don't think that's a good idea. By giving the product exposure it will most likely just result in more people buying it.

This video from one of my favorite creators sums it up really well:

If you dislike a product, the best thing to do is ignore it, not show it to millions of people. Even if you only say bad things about the product, the risk of exposing it to someone who ends up interested in it is far higher than the likelihood of convincing someone who was thinking of buying it that it's a bad product.

Much like the LTT Christmas album. Best to never mention it again...

I am sure that nothing would make @LinusTech happier.

Sucks the pendant is a scam, it looks really cool.

If all you want is a cool-looking thing, and it's priced as such, then it's fine.

It's nonsense snake-oil promises that make things like this a scam. The only way "personal 5G blocking bubble" nonsense can work is if it emitted loud random noise in the same spectrum that 5G uses, effectively raising the noise floor to drown out 5G cell service. In other words, "blocking" 5G radiation with even more radiation, just without the dastardly "5G" signaling. Genius!

With a bit of luck you might find a (non-functioning) "knock-off" on Aliexpress or somewhere similar. Ideally that would be cheaper and without the radioactive special sauce.
