The 5800x3d has a "TDP" of 105w, so why is total package power ~135w, and what does TDP actually even mean... design? but it's using more?  (my 3600 also used ~135w "total package power" btw...)

Also CPU utility 125%? how?

im just curious how these numbers work and why they don't say "135w TDP" etc then? (its all stock btw, also don't mind the temps as its not thermal throttling)

Just do a quick google search.  TDP vs Power Draw🙂

My 105w 7700x draws usually 120-130w during gaming with high CPU loads.

yeah... that's what i thought... but its drawing *135w* ... is my point/ question,  so isn't "tdp" highly misleading?

you see?

BTW, my 3600 did draw around 135w, but only with some heavy PBO trickery,  without PBO it was just using "65w" , just like they say on the box 😅

see why i think its weird the 5800x3d is using 135 "stock"?

im not complaining, i just think there needs to be an explanation for that!?

It can be. Especially with turbo boost TDP / Power Draw etc.

I will say that my 7700x has PBO and Curve Optimizer on.

How come you aren't using the curve?

Your cooler is just barely holding on to that.
