It'd be cool if there was a Floatplane badge for those subscribed.

A lot of the badges are a sign of LMG support, and Floatplane is the same.

It's not super straight forward to implement, but I'll leave it up to @Slick &co to decide.

It could be done, but even folding badges are manual so it would take up lots of time unless automation was built. Which in and of itself would take up time. And it's the whole cost/reward situation then.

In theory it's like advertising FP on the profile of anyone who wants it, but, is that worth the time investment to make it work. No idea, I ain't no accountant

We used to a FloatPlane Pilot title... unless I'm remembering wrong, back when FP was part of the form before it separated to its on site.

It would not hurt to have a badge...

Would it really be that different from the forum subscription banner?

Oh, I mean as far as implementation goes. Wouldn't one be able to tie it to the forum log in somehow? I know you can log into FP through the forum.

The implementation of a FP badge would need to be very different to the contributor badges.

There isn't one at the moment. Hence this thread. Before Floatplane was launched to its own site (beta), it was operated on forums (alpha). Badges were a thing during that time and were based on user groups.

This is pretty unlikely.

The usergroup back in the day was pretty simple because it was just based around if you had a FP subscription through the forums payment methods or not.

Verifying the status of your FP subscription to a specific creator(LMG in this case) and keeping that status up to date to maintain a badge status would take a notable amount of work... and the FP team has quite a daunting task queue as it is.

Would be neat - and never say never - but it's not gonna hit the roadmap right now.

Thanks for the interest though 😄
