hey, I'm in the process of upgrading my pc from a 1650 super and Ryzen 5 3600 to a 3060ti and a Ryzen 9 5900x but I'm having trouble picking a 3060ti, I have a 750w PSU and will have the 5900x when I get the GPU.

I don't have a very high budget but the cheapest used 3060tis are around £220-£250 and I'd like to get something in that range if possible.

also if there's like a dedicated post for this type of thing then please direct me there lol

Why such a weird upgrade? I'd rather upgrade the GPU first and then see how much headroom you are missing.

Have a look at the used market for a 6700XT. Same performance but cheaper on the used market as it's not asking for a premium simply cause it's not branded NVIDIA.

id just save up the cash then find a good deal on a 3080 to haggle down even more so might even be able to get one <300£ if you are lucky enough

3070 at that price is already pretty meh value and especially a 3060ti so yeah id pass on the 3060ti and find a faster gpu or a cheaper gpu with the same perf like the 6650xt

since a few people are confused about my choices, I was originally going to get GPU now with my own savings which has taken a few months and then save for a new CPU after and get that around Christmas but I got £200 like this morning and since I was already close enough to the GPU I bought the CPU instead so I have both around the same time.

I do understand that an AMD card would be better for price but i want an Nvidia card for ray tracing and it's just what I'm used to (I know that's not a good reason but whatever) and I only play like Minecraft and beat saber mainly with other games being an after thought.

None of the nvidia cards in your budget can do ray tracing at an acceptable level.

Being "used" to nvidia is about the lamest excuse I've heard anyone make in a while.

You plug the card in.....update drivers and play games it's not like they are different in that way.

Right so if no one recommends a 3060ti you still buy a 3060ti.....if everyone recommends it you still buy a 3060ti.

What was the point in asking at this point?
