So I'm currently looking around for what would be good and affordable for myself of up to $2500 MAX on the tower alone as the Monitor I'm going to get is enough as it is. I'm aiming at an OC build but not 100% on some of the choices of what I have made so far or an extensive knowledge of all possible available items on the market at this current stage. So please any suggestion would be greatly appreciated but do take into account I'm from Australia, so availability can be an issue sometimes as I have already found out making decisions somewhat harder. This is build is based around gaming with possibly some video making in the future.

Do note that I do also plan on upgrading to 2 GPU's and 2 SSD's in Raid 0 at some point possibly. That also what makes decision a little harder as of now. As well as myself being very unsure of what PSU or Motherboard would be most convenient. Also would much prefer a semi/modular PSU.

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97X-SOC Force Z97 LGA1150 ($289)

CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K LGA1150 CPU 3.5Ghz 8Mb Cache Haswell ($394)

CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H105 Liquid CPU Cooler ($160)

RAM: Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 2400MHz Vengeance PRO ($219)

Storage: Western Digital Green 3TB Green 64MB SATA 3 ($131)

SSD: Intel 730 Series 240GB SSD ($289)

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 770 OC EDITION PCI-E 3.0 4GB 256-bit DDR5 ($480)

Case: NZXT Phantom 410 Mid Tower Case White ($126)

PSU: Corsair RM-850 ATX PSU 80 Plus Gold Full Modular ($220)

Software: Microsoft Windows 8.1 64bit OEM ($113)

Total: $2421

Please do take into account these are $AUD prices and items are limited availability. Also if you wish to have a look around at what is available in Australia I will list some sites below as overseas postage isn't really an option currently but will accept suggestions regardless in the case where postage may be cheap enough.

What's the system being used for?

Why raid 0?

The psu is overkill even for sli. You could run the system off of a rm650 if you really wanted to.

yeah that was one part im not 100% sure on cause im not sure how much wattage this current system would use as well as eventually being a dual screen setup with 2 GPU's as well.

Dual screen doesn't affect your PSU...Those displays have their own PSUs.

It's still overkill,even for 2 GPUs.

you really dont need 2 gpus unless you are doing super crazy 3d rendering. if you are just gaming, a single gpu is fine. I run a single 670 tf and I can max out 99% of all games.

Yeah, as @Jaybird and @WoodenMarker said, the PSU is really overkill. Also, I heard some bad stuff with the RM series. Like the caps are poor quality. Even if these rumours were fake, I would be better safe than sorry. You can probably go with an AX 760 if you still want a Corsair.

@WoodenMarker, please fix some of the text to automatic. I can't see.

LIke they said, that PSU is overkill

And why don't you go with 290/x O.o I think that would be in your budget?

EDIT: I checked and 290 is actually cheaper than 770 you want to go with. I also heard that AMD cards are better for multi-monitor setup because they have more VRAM.

Well, RAID 0 only speeds performance, but if something goes haywire, the array dies, and so does your data.

They aren't poor quality--at least in general. Relative to the 'high-end/high-tier' market they are advertising the unit as, the caps aren't the best but they aren't terrible.

? I just typed the reply--it should be automatic. Is it fixed now?

also, most people here advise against raid 0. havent figured it out my self.

It only increases sequential transfer speeds which doesn't make the system feel any snappier and can actually make the system less responsive since what makes the system feel snappy is the random read speed and random access times.

Only thing i wold do is get some nice after market fans for your H105. i find the stock fans are very loud and have a slight rattle to them.

I know everyone is saying that the RM850 is over kill. but i think it's a good choice. the RM series Fan will not spin up until it hits 50% load. so will help get you pc quite and give you plenty off head room for future upgrades (case lights, higher end gpu's, more HDD's, etc).

I will getting an evga 850W psu soon to replace my current one. mostly for the better cables. but secondly because the fan will not spin on low loads. so my pc sits nice a quite when watch tv, severing the web etc.

Ahk well myself I've just always been a nvidia fan, just like the use of their programs and ease of use as well but thats just my experience with the stuff. I also know there are many options but if i can skimp down on price in other places i could get a better GPU such as 780 price on gpu doesnt phase me too much as long as it can be manipulated into the build for the right prices and performance and also i want it to be somewhat quiet not too loud.

Yeah this is the part i hated looking for as my knowledge lacks most with PSU's as well as availability in australia with them is awful ill have a look around and see what i can find around the 700/750W mark?

Yeah im aware of that, i would be only after performance speeds, application and games and the HDD would be for the bulk of the stuff i actually want stored, so its really an option im currently looking at.

Yeah im looking at getting LED fans or noctua depending on the route i take cause i do wish to have some form of lighting through fans/LED Strips but yeah people say its better to have a PSU run at 50% and others say its not so if anyone has a benchmark of it or anything love to see cause i do plan on upgrades for more fans, LED lighting and maybe higher end gpu possibly. My options at the moment are quite open with the budget i have but the cheaper for better performance and quiet operation, the better.

a PSU will normally work more efficiently when running round 70-90% load. but I like having a quite rig when doing basic tasks.

Okay thats alright. For the PSU i just want something reliable and quiet mainly.

Pirate windows, get a smaller PSU and upgrade to a 780.

I dont mind paying for windows so i dont have to go to the hassle of pirating a OS but a good suggestion for saving money none the less.

I got an estimated wattage of 470W with a single single GPU and 670W Sli on Pcpartpicker that i came across browsing so i think with your comment it would be alright with 850W also the fans on RM series dont start spinning till under 40%+ load so 750W seems alright after further inspection for upgrading and cost saving

Yeah i plan on overclocking everything so 650W would be fine but if i go dual GPUs early wouldve been a waste since ill need at least 700W PSU. Been browsing and im still with RM series for the quiet opperation but the antec HCG series doesnt seem too bad either not to sure. Australia needs more PC Products haha

850 is really overkill. Your system would never run at 100% outside of synthetic benchmarks.
