I usually wouldn't have a problem with bank transfer for pickup, but when he directly states that that is the only thing he will accept it does seem quite fishy...

Very sketchy, ask him why he only accepts bank transfer. see if you can look at it before you buy it.

If you read the same things as others and say the same things they say, then you're perceived as intelligent.

I'm a bit more radical... Woz

I would say to him, I will come to your house, when I see the PC in front of me I will use my mobile to transfer the money, and I will take the PC immediately.

If he has any issue with that, scam.

Also, no GPU, I wouldn't pay more for what he is selling second hand.

£850 seems a reasonable price to me considering the older ivy bridge i7.

The thing doesn't even have GPU and still costs quite a lot of money.

I wonder why he's selling it and never bought a GPU for his "High Spec Gaming PC"

and its fair enough to ask for a bank transfer these days someone handing you 850 cash is a nuisance

That is a valid point. I know if I went to the bank and deposited $850 in cash they would question it and assume I robbed a store.

This is exactly the same build and it costs just over 1000 pounds. It's a pretty good deal.

However, DO NOT buy it unless you see and test it with your own eyes.

Well when your bank account goes from single/double digits to tripple or even quadrouple they like to freeze your account and make you wait days to verify the money you deposit.

The price seems legit since theres no gpu installed(as far as i can see) But the instant cash transfer is a bit...

-snip-

Another reason for that from a seller's perspective (Keep in mind you're picking up from his house) could be safety precautions, people can act like they want to buy something and pay cash, that person knows where you live now and knows you have a shit ton of cash on you..

at least with EFT the funds can't be stolen so easily.
