So I will be trying to build my first ever PC 😄 I saw a case (Logic Aramis ARGB Mini) and it looks pretty good, also comes with 3 preinstalled fans. Found a cheap motherboard too, (Asus Prime A320m-k) and I'm worried, if those case fans would connect to the motherboard without any problems. I read somewhere that just because those fans are ARGB, this motherboard wouldn't support them. I'm so lost atm 😄

Welcome to the forums!

Funnily enough that was my last mobo, so I know it pretty well. (Side note I would go for a B450 if your budget allows, provided you haven't bought it already)

Firstly, you would need a fan hub as the board only comes with 1 chassis fan header

Secondly, you would also need an argb controller, as this board does not have nay kind of rgb connectors

You can find these 2 in one controller normally, both fan and argb

Console.WriteLine("Hello World!");

Oh I think the B450 would be even better, because that A320m-k was 45euro (with a bad cpu), and b450 is 50euro. (BIOSTAR B450MHP) to be exact. Would this motherboard model support all these fans without fan hubs and a AMD 5 3600 & RX 5600xt combo?

Nope, same connectors

Also looks very bare for a B450

Console.WriteLine("Hello World!");

But then why is the B450 better than A320m-k?
Sorry, I'm pretty new to this 😄

Haha its okay

Normally they'd be a lot beefier, but these 2 are at the low ends of each spectrum

A320 doesnt make much sense when B450 isnt much more, as B450 supports more features such as (normally) more connectors on the boards, better VRM's and power delivery for the CPU, and always better rear I/O

Console.WriteLine("Hello World!");

Sorry, I'm pretty new to this 😄

A bit more of :

PCIE lanes

USB 3 Gen 2

RAM slots (if you ever need it)

And OC support if you ever need it.

And of course, as ^ said, though differs from board to board, generally better VRM.

I have a huge bias against Biostar motherboard, so I'm not gonna endorse it.

Then what motherboard would be good for AMD 5 3600 & RX 5600xt combo? Cheapest option 😄

Looking for dirt cheap I guess this will do - ASUS PRIME B450M-A II, AMD AM4, MATX, 128GB DDR4, 4DIMM, HDMI, DVI, D-SUB, PCIE : Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

I have ASUS PRIME B450M-K II, it can handle 5600 decently, only has one M.2 slot I think, still decent, has like 6 USB ports at the back I believe

Well, i don't really have VRM fetish to go in dept about it.

For AM4 I usually just kinda refer to this forum's mobo tier list ngl

My own pick would be the MSI B450M-A Pro Max at £56.21

https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-B450M-PRO-MAX-Motherboard/dp/B07WC8QVCB

Though from quick glance at spec sheets the ASUS seems to have better rear USB I/O and more Sys_Fan header (1), but yeah, probably because I don't use that much USB3 10gbps port.

Also kinda due to not having trouble with my last two MSI board.

So yep, kinda bias warning 😬

could work, since it looks completely similar to the ASUS

seen, but I'm biased towards MSI for recommending on AM5, those boards look so clean, and sometimes quite a bargain
