That's the whole point of my last post. I can't find any folders that are mentioned in those screenshots. There are other folders which start with { but not the one's which have those .exe files which is using the internet in the background.

Try submitting some of these files to VirusTotal and see what they come back with.

This is the problem, if I go to those locations, none of such folders exist.

Do you think an app like this might be behind all this?

Though other users do not report such things.

Yes I did check that path. No folder or the .exe files which were in those screenshots were found here too.

I don't mean the exe files, just folders with the {} brackets in general, you know temp is short for temporary, those files aren't always there to stay

Nope folders aren't there too. That's precisely my point, it connects to the internet in the background and then vanishes. It seems that format is the only solution.

Tried it already but it also found nothing. It seems that those .exe files vanishes after they have used the internet in the background.

I guess last question would be how these kinds of files would end up on the PC in the first place?

No idea. I just use this pc for ms office documents and web browsing for work purposes. That's it. And the system is scanned every other day using kvrt and now with malwarebytes too.

if the anti-viruses are up to date there's low chance you actually have malware, and if you don't download stuff or don't click on random ads then there's no chance something just suddenly appeared on your PC

This is why I created this thread to find the reason behind this but I guess we will never know.

  • 2 months later...

@podkall@Kilrah@Godlygamer23@Levent

Sorry for the late reply. Finally figured out what those files were. KVRT https://www.kaspersky.com/downloads/free-virus-removal-tool was creating it after every scan. KVRT saved my pc's ass few years back so I always ran it atleast once a week. How I figured this out is, installed a fresh os in my friend's computer. Did not install anything, but downloaded kvrt and ran it. The results came out to be clean. When I was going to switch the wifi network went to the network usage and saw that kvrt and its temp folders used 280mb of data, to upload something to their servers because it needs internet connection to check the system via its cloud, just after one scan. Since then have removed kvrt from all systems and have never seen these folders anywhere.

Wish there was an open source AV.
