No audio from external soundbar after connecting to acer monitor via aux

I have a acer monitor vg270. It has the headphones jack port behind it. I connected my soundbar via aux to that port but iam not getting audio from my soundbar. The monitor has a built-in speaker but its very low so i want to connect it to the soundbar via aux only.

Please help me with this.

I never use my monitor as an audio source, but I do have a soundbar on a PC.

Is the sound coming out of your monitor speakers before plugging in the soundbar?

If not disconnect the soundbar to make sure the monitor is receiving audio.

If so check to see which source the soundbar is set to.

Why not plug the soundbar into the audio out of your computer?

the aux on the sound bar is actually coaxial (digital signal like toslink) your 3.5 mm headphone is analog. thats why it dont work.

your better off connecting the sound bar to comp anyways

Even after connecting the soundbar via aux to monitor the audio is coming from monitor only. The soundbar source is set to aux only. I want to connect it to monitor only because i have my PlayStation too connected to monitor so i want to connect it to monitor only

basically headphone from monitor to input headphone of converter (3.5mm to 3.5mm cable). then output coaxial rca to soundbar aux rca(rca to rca cable)
then you "should" have sound

I'm confused. How did you determine this?

I checked the Govo product page and I checked the product manual and all references to the Aux port just simply says it's an Aux port, and even visually it looks like a normal 3.5mm input.

Have you tried any other devices with your soundbar's AUX input? Your desktop 3.5mm port? A laptop 3.5mm port? A phone? A music player?

We want to confirm that your soundbar AUX port actually works.

Have you tried any headphones with your monitor?

I just checked my headphones connected to the monitor and it works. I connected the soundbar with my laptop but with aux on the soundbar is loose and i had to adjust it a bit to get the audio from the soundbar. I just ordered a replacement of the soundbar from amazon. Let's see if it works.
