4x16 or 2x32 DDR5 for Gaming and Video Editing

Looking for some input. Im recently looking to upgrade my PC's RAM. Currently I am running Corsair Vengance DDR5-6000 CL40 32GB(2x16GB). Id like to double to 64GB but i remember hearing that DDR5 may have some issues running at full speed across 4 sticks. But it would cheaper to just add a couple sticks to my existing set.

Also on a side question would tightening up the timings be advised for video editing rendering in event of a complete replacement is done

Thanks!

Yes, mostly since CL30 kits are almost the exact same price as the CL36 or CL40 kits.

Correct. 4x16GB is possible to run at decent speeds, but it's finicky to get working. Generally if you can avoid it, you should. Plus, 6000 CL40 is the speed bin that can be one of three memory ICs, so odds are if you get a second kit of it, there's a 2/3 chance that it will be different and therefore more likely to run into issues.

You'll get better performance and stability

Performance could be gained on 4 sticks but yeah the stability of 2 sticks is as unbeatable as the death of the universe for dual channel systems. 2x32 all the way through.
