I wouldn't put the TA 120 on a 7700X. That CPU will ramp up to 85c right quick, so you want something to cool it enough to get more out of it.

 

Either get more cooling or drop to a 7600(x).  7700X is in an odd place atm.

The 7600x also gets more performance than the 7700, just has less cores.

Userbenchmark is like, not the best source for things that are close in comparison,

 

though 7700 doesn't increase effective gaming performance much, in creative tasks though, and anything multithreaded it's a different story,

 

it depends, some games you run on lower settings and crank as much fps, where the 7700's slightly higher potential lock speed would be beneficial,

 

though both beaten by 7800x3D, so @filpo wins once again,

7600 might be a bit problematic for 1080p but since they're upgrading to 1440p later it should be fine
