PC would crash and m.2 will go missing from the list of bootable devices in BIOS

Hi this is my first time posting here. I need help I'm so lost on what to do. Just like the title I bought an M.2 for my OS. It would work for a while then my PC would just crash and when I turn it on again it just goes straight to the BIOS and would say that I don't have a bootable device. I need to re inset the M.2 for it work again. I also tried using all of the M.2 slots but it still crashes. I went back to using my SATA SSD at the moment so that I can still use my PC and it hasn't crashed when I just use my SATA SSD. It keeps on happening and I tried every thing that I saw in other forums but nothing works. Hopefully someone here might know what I can do to fix this.

For reference here's the specs of my PC

Core i5-13600KF

AORUS Z790 ELITE AX

RTX 4070

32GB DDR5

Corsair HX1000i

Now this one might be a failing M.2 SSD. If you did use all possible slots in your motherboard yet still crashes, well, yeah, that would be my rough guess.

 

 

You might want to buy a new one and recover your data as soon as possible. That probably wont last for long if you keep using it more.

Sorry I forgot to put that I just bought it 2 weeks ago and when I tried to use on my brother's PC for a couple of days it never crashed.

Well thats odd..Motherboard issue? Or was there something you added to your setup before it had this issue?

The motherboard I just bought 4 months ago. Do you know if there's away I can check if my motherboard is faulty?
The M.2 was the only thing that I added to my setup.

have you updated the bios at all? maybe a bios update might fix it if its not a bad m.2

Check your CMOS battery voltage with a multimeter.

Tried updating bios but it still crashed

3.3V is brand new, 3V is standard. 2.8V or lower means dead.

i would RMA it and get another.. if it still keeps beeing a problem, return the mainboard.

It's night and I don't have a multimeter I have to go buy tomorrow that's why I opted to just check it there for the time being. That said it crashed again and I  got the Stop Code: kernal data inpage error

that stop code means it has a problem with RAM or hard drive...  hard drive reason is due to page file it can not read. 

 

quite natural with your issues realy..  to check the m.2 drive you will need to check it in another system to see if it's ok.. if it is, it's probably your mainboard having issues.

Have you Clicked on the Intel storage option button in bios? If you you will get the same problem.

 

It can help to safe erase the SSD in bios and reinstall windows.
