Wraith Stealth fan on tower cooler

CrazySerb99

Hey everyone!

The fan on my cpu cooler has been getting a little noisy, guess the bearings got shot.

So I thought of clipping the wraith stealth fan onto the tower cooler.

The cooler is the lowly Antec A40 Pro but it's cooling an R5 2600 so the temps are perfect.

The wraith stealth fan seems to be 96mm but the mounting holes seem to be fitting the 92mm fan, so it should fit nicely (the stock fan was mounted with rubber pointy things I would re-use).

Any opinions on how this would perform?

Cheers!

Will do in about a few hours, just wanted to hear some opinions first.

Noticed that people are pretty divided about that fan, some say noisy as hell, some say its perfectly quiet.

Well a 90mm fan is either noisy or idle 😛

Well, then I'd be going from a tower cooler to an aluminium block.

Downgrading the fan I'd see as okay, but the whole heatsink, idk...

Ok, you can test it anyway, not sure anyone  here did that and has real insight on this 🙂

Well the factory cooler fan for the Antec was actually the most silent part of the PC 🤣

Try the AMD wraith fans, else get a cheap Thermalright 92mm fan

Upon opening the case and comparing the stealth fan and the factory one, I found that the stealth is the same size for the fan itself (blade size maybe even slightly larger), however the mounting holes do not match up.

The factory fan is the standard 92mm fan and it has the regular mounting holes, while the stealth has smaller corner edges which brings the mounting holes in.

instead of the holes being 92mm x 92mm I found they are closer to 75mm x 75mm for the stealth.

A new 92mm fan it is! (for anyone interested).

I am not familiar with what the fan looks like when its removed from the cooler.. but is there any way to get creative with zipties?

There are a few ways to mount a fan with zipties, a couple of them are ghetto af but  works.. sorta.
