first time building a pc, and i’ve clearly done something wrong.

this is my first pc build, i’m just trying to boot into bios to install my OS and it won’t show, i have to order new RAM because i was silly and didn’t look at it was DDR4 and my motherboard only supports DDR5. could that be the issue as to why or my newbie wiring? i’ve tried plugging it both into GPU and motherboard but nothing has come up. IMG_9411.thumb.jpeg.e74257121cea7df972b971e4159d9408.jpegIMG_9409.thumb.jpeg.72161c91517b1b7bd072fad163d234e6.jpeg

The computer wont boot at all without RAM, more than likely the issue

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D [-30 PBO all core]

GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT NITRO+ [1050mV, 2.8GHz core, 2.6Ghz mem]

Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB 32GB 6000MHz CL32 DDR5

Storage: 2TB SN850X, 1TB SN850 w/ heatsink, 500GB P5 Plus (OS Storage)

Case: 5000D AIRFLOW

Cooler: Thermalright Frost Commander 140

PSU: Corsair RM850e

Your motherboard has a bios flashback button, so you can update the bios, but if there's no ram then it won't allow you to install an OS or even get into bios

does it make any difference if i have an M.2 installed or is ram an absolute must-have?

A PC wont work without RAM. Persistent data storage is optional

And if the DDR5 arrived and it still does not boot, install it on either A1 and B1 or A2 and B2 slots. When I built my PC and it did not boot, I just reseated the ram on A1B1 instead of a A2B2 and it worked.
