First PC build! Would like some recommendations

Not sure if this is the correct subthread to post it in, please do move/remove this if it is not!.

Hello all! I am going to building my first PC in about 2 months time, with a budget of 1500CAD before tax, preferably less. I will mainly be playing MSFS2020 (soon 2024!) at hopefully 40-50FPS at all ultra settings, along with some XP12. This is my current list https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/jPKtyg , could I get some feedback on how to maybe cut the price down a bit? (1080P! but will upgrade in 2-3 years maybe!) I also want to make sure the cooler won't touch the GPU ! The cooler of choice looks a bit.... large...?

ps. I would like to stay with AMD + AMD

- Thank you!

7800x3d + 6800xt + 32gb 6000c30

just an all around upgrade with a better cpu + gpu + board + psu and it has now been downsized to matx so more compact and takes up less room

ive heard that msfs likes extra cache so went for a 7800x3d, you can save about 250$ if you went for a 7600 instead but depends on how bad the performance hit is loosing the cache even if you can run the 7600 at 5.3-5.5 allcore

look for a used 6800xt, should be somewhere around 400-500$ and it does outperform the 7700xt, basically the same performance as a 7800xt but much cheaper and draws slightly more power, you might even find a decent deal on a used 6900xt/6950xt though theyre usually not worth going for since the performance gain is pretty minimal over the 6800xt unlike going from a 6700xt/6800 -> 6800xt

psu is now 1000w with a 10 year warranty and no loud fan noise complaints

if you dont like rainbows just set the fans to a single colour, and if you dont like colour at all set the fans to black and now theres no more colour or you can just not connect the argb header but then the fans will look white

7900gre is going to be better for better than the old gpu, and for gaming, gpu>cpu. I’ll draw up a cheaper one

What do you think of a 7600XT instead ? I would rather stay with new parts, as this is my first build and I'd rather be safe.

I think that looks good, perhaps I might dive deeper into this and maybe get a 7600XT instead, do you know if my cooler and GPU will touch each other on my MATX board?

performance will be much worse and good luck even trying to get any decent graphical settings

its literally half the performance of a 6800xt

ive bought used gpus before and ive had no issues, just have to make sure to test the damn thing and youll be fine

it is your money so do whatever you like but im just warning you that your performance goals will not be reached if you decide to go for a 7600xt instead of a 6800xt
