j5 create docking station not working with hp laptop.

ShayOh

Hi! Help me figure this out, please...
so I had this HP laptop for about 3 years ago: HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15m-ee0023dx,
I wanted to add an ethernet connection.. so I found on FB marketplace this dock J5 create Model: JCD543.
but no matter what I do, I just can't get it to be recognized by the computer... no USB keyboard/mouse nothing...
I see some threads over hp no supporting docking stations or something but my laptop c-port specs are:

1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C™ (10 Gb/s signaling rate, Power Delivery 3.0, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge);

also, I already got a USB hub with only USB A ports (I belive 3.0) and it works just fine...

at this point... I would rather take the lose and try and resell the dock and buy something else rather than being forced to buy a new laptop...

any thoughts?

TIA

did you find the drivers for it? I just googled the model and it gives requirements + system specs need for the doc to work.

it looks like you also need a driver to make it work.

NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER STOP LEARNING. DONT LET THE PAST HURT YOU. YOU CAN DOOOOO IT

As mentioned prior, it looks like it needs drivers. Is it even charging your laptop over USB-C though?

Yeah, I already installed the drivers, no change. tried reinstalling, and restarting a couple of times, and no it doesn't seem to charge over USB.
(my laptop is capable of charging over the USB C port but its main charging port is the old barrel sharing port, thought it worth mentioning it)
