Gigabyte A520M K V2 not POSTing

Go to solution Solved by Pepegovich,

It's fixed! A loosely tightened screw came loose and shorted out the PCI-E slot. As a result, it will be a reminder for the future to check all screws when servicing.

Greetings. Without further ado, I'll get to the heart of the problem.

My specs:

  • Motherboard - Gigabyte A520M K V2
  • RAM - Kingston DDR4 32Gb (2x16Gb) 3733 MHz pc-29800 FURY Beast Black (KF437C19BB1K2/32)
  • PSU - Seasonic PRIME PX-850 (SSR-850PD)
  • CPU - Amd Ryzen 7 5700X (no OC)
  • GPU - GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12GB WINDFORCE
  • Misc. - 2 Kingston SSD and 1 M2 Noname SSD

The essence of the problem:

Last night, I went to bed as usual, turned off the computer. This morning, it stopped starting (black screen, fans spin up at startup, then go quiet).

What did I do:

I pulled out RAM, GPU, CPU. I took a spare PSU (cheap Thermaltake 650w). All this did not bring results.

One of the interesting things is that when changing the GPU (on GT610), the keyboard backlight lights up.

Just as it turned out, the speaker does not "beeps" (I checked it - it is dead)

POSTcard and new speaker will arrive tomorrow and I will update the information.

Sorry for my English - I'm not very good at technical terms in English.
