Is Chrome infected (again)?

So I was going to do some more with my website, and then I started to notice the green underlined text on every site I went to. Any ideas on what to do? Should I do a Malwarebytes scan in the AppData folder?

Yeah i got that issue too...

Fixed by reinstalling chrome

I uninstalled the 16384 extension and I think it went away with it. I'll have to use it for a while and see if that's actually the case.

Ran that and it found nothing, so I guess my one extension was the problem.

Yup it was the 16384 extension. Such a good time killer. Thanks for the help though, everyone. I appreciate it, even though I kinda doofed out.

DON'T USE CNET, it's riddled with adware and malware.

 

Run adwcleaner at bleeping computer, it works wonders. Even if you've fixed your problem for now, you probably have other junk laying around.

 

Just please, PLEASE, use adwcleaner.

I always wonder what the thought process behind adware is, are they like "lets annoy the crap out of people by forcing our ads on them, that'll make them want to buy our product!"?

That's the thing: they don't need people to buy their product, because the adware DELIVERS the product, which contains more adware.
