If you had unlimited money, what pc would you build?

I would probably build a 9900k + 2080 ti, both custom looped and overclocked, dream build

Building a 14900ks + rtx 4090 build is cool,  but I dont need that performance and I would rather have some fun overclocking the 2080 ti

Probably 4080 super and 7800X3D. Don't need a baller setup, will do high end bang-for-buck. Don't need 16+ cores, don't need a space heater for a GPU. Would go for a 4tb nvme of reliable build, seasonic titanium 1200, and B650 Taichi Lite.

with unlimited money i have no clue what nonsense id be doing wether that be building a phase change cryocooler for < -100c temps under load, buying a shit ton of old cpus to bin, bulding a rework station, buying all the damn electronics stuff ill ever need (multimeters, thermal cameras, trimpots, etc.) buying rare boards like the x58a oc, bloodrage, sr-2, etc.

i expect to get a pretty decent amount of money in the coming weeks/months as i continue practicing forex and not getting murdered by the market cause im being an impatient idiot putting positions right as the damn thing reverses alongside full margining nonsense when theres no momentum =p  so i think some of these ideas are gonna be within reach in the very near future

as for a dream build back in 2018/2019 i wanted to build the ultimate x58 system but that kinda faded away as newer stuff got faster and faster and no more ryzen killing shenanigans past zen+

Spoiler

but now that i know ddr3 3000+ is relatively easy to hit atleast with 2 channels its just a matter of getting a board thatll run 1:1 uncore and have a 3rd channel that isnt garbage and wont run >2800 and binning some gulftowns or even bloomfields, so maybe id also screw around with trying to build the ultimate x58 rig with a proper binned cpu and proper oc (5ghz+, ddr3 3000+, uncore as high as itll run at 1.7v-1.9v depending on how far the chip scales)

right now i dont really have the money so im just stuck with binning w3503 since theyre worth pennies and unlocked imc, heres the best of the first 3 ive just bought a couple days ago and looks pretty promising since it already beats my best i7 930 albiet vtt at 1.94v and it seems like it might be able to just barely hit 3400 if i tweak it abit more, currently stuck at 3392 (didnt screenie cause its not 3400), probs gonna buy more of these in hopes of one being able to do 3600+ on air, yes i have obliterated the former record and then some which i belive to be 3168 looking at hwbot i7 920 but i wanna go farther just because =p  maybe i can make the ultimate 2008 x58 build with a binned bloomfield xeon w

With unlimited money, why would you care about bang for buck?

The 4090 also has an advantage in that you can  under-clock it to be more efficient so it kicks out similar heat to a 4080 and still performs better.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

Fair, hadn't considered underclocking efficiency. I'm also pragmatic sometimes to a fault, so I rarely if ever go all out. I've got a base model used Jetta because it had 95% of the things I was looking for and was a good price. (Would have like the blind spot monitoring and sunroof, but that was gonna be like another 3k and wasn't available at the time. Also convinced me on white cars. The eggshell hue of it looks really nice)

Yeah I've been tinkering with it due to F@H:

Worth noting the 4090 has the curve optimiser undervolting, but the 4070 Ti does not as its not available in Linux. 😞  But just running the curve optimiser seemed to shave 100W off the 4090 power consumption before underclocking, though its hard to be sure if this was entirely accurate given workloads change on F@H depending on the work unit.

It doesn't scale quite the same with gaming AFAIK but should still be a benefit.  People were talking about reducing the TDP helping drop the power consumption without impacting gaming performance much, but actually if you run curve optimiser and then force a clock limit with nvidia-smi (as oddly Afterburner seems to disable the custom curve if you set a clock offset) you get interesting results.  But again, I've only really tested with F@H so I'd expect it would vary between games based on if they benefit from more cores or more clock.

I'd probably buy some Apple wheels and put them on my PC.  Not a Mac, though.  Barf.

some sort of custom made PC with art deco theme and perhaps copper tubing. And then a home office with art deco notes as well, including wallpaper, desk and shelves.

mITX is awesome! I regret nothing (apart from when picking parts or have to do maintainance *cough*cough*)

This would count as "dream build" which aren't allowed here. And as you can see, replied are not really about PCs when you don't have limits to money.
