So it seems that Intel is delaying Broadwell until around May-June 2015. It had been roumered up untill now that Broadwell would be coming later this year, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

This is a shame really. I was really looking forward to a jump in CPU performance and had planned on getting the EVGA Z97 Classified and probably 5770K this year.

Well, I guess there's still Devil's Canyon to look forward to, but there doesn't seem to be much difference in terms of performance.

Broadwell most likely won't be much of a performance increase either, Skylake however might be.

I've heard a bit about Skylake. Isn't it meant to be on like the Z107 chipset or something? I think I heard somewhere that intel's going into the hundreds after the 90s.

Same here. It doesn't really need upgrading, but it's always nice to have more performance.

Yeah, I think I might get a Devil's Canyon CPU towards the end of the year depending on Maxwell. If I could find most Z77 motherboards worth getting I wouldn't think about it.

Possibly all I know is it will be on a new socket and will most likely be a big enough performance jump.

Thats no worries at all. For those sitting on Sandybridge or newer platforms simply enjoy them until Skylake is out. For those buying new PC just get Devil's Canyon unlocked CPU along with Z97 and enjoy until Skylake. In my opinion biggest bummer is NVidia Maxwell fiasco and lack of any news. I am building a new rig but last I want is GTX 780 or similar knowing some GTX 780 Ultra can be around the corner bearing Maxwell goodies and full DX12 support.
