Problem with Keenetic 2111

I bought this modem but there's no power button. Is it supposed to be on all the time? It gets too hot and there's a slight burnt plastic smell at the bottom of it.

that's kind of the idea with networking equipment: that it's on all of the time...

and past that - you bought the kind of garbage that claims up to 200Mbps, but the ports are only 100Mbps ports..

Garbage? I thought Keenetic modems are good.

As an American I have never heard of them. @manikyath is right, they only offer 100 Mbps Ethernet ports, that means the company cheaped out. While the modem part of that box can supposedly handle 200 Mbps DSL, you will never get more than 100 Mbps on Ethernet.

Thats not good. Maybe warranty it out? It has a USB port, so you would try a laptop cooler. I did that to one of my routers back in the day because DDWRT used to make it run hot.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

I thought about that too but people in the other forums said it might draw too much power and cause problems.

So just used a cellphone charger to power the cooler.
