Graphics card for 6 monitors.

Go to solution Solved by 8tg,

So you pretty much just need cards for display output?
For some minor premier pro GPU acceleration I would almost just recommend any two low tier quadros.

A pair of Quadro P2000’s will be around $300 combined snd give you 2048 cuda cores and 8 DisplayPort outputs. Premier pros GPU acceleration can be weird though so if you’re not really using that much, pretty much any two low end gpus to make it 6 outputs will do fine, few gt 1030’s or whatever.
If you want to keep it simple with one card there are dedicated 6 display r7 350’s but they’re like $200 when that’s also the cost of two used RX 580’s which will give you much better openCL acceleration.

So that comes down to a consideration of cost alongside GPU acceleration. On the cheap, get a pair of Quadro M2000’s

With a bit more money, P2000’s or better.

For the same money and less concern over power, a pair of RX 580’s

And for no consideration to GPU acceleration or cost, one of those 6 display r7 350’s

On the fun side, three GTX 750ti’s

I have a 6 monitor setup shared between 2 computers.  I'd like to use all of them on one rig as both my computer are EOL.

I am in the research phase now trying to figure out what parts to buy for my new PC.

Occasional premier pro video editing, no gaming, I don't want it to become obsolete soon.

Should I get one of these weird 6 display port cards or just go with 2 3 port cards?

I recal there was a Radeon card that was popular for this reason, but I dont think there has been any recent versions of the card, but I could be wrong.

I recommend the opposite route. If you have a CPU with integrated graphics you can usually run a display or two off of that. Most gpu can usually do atleast 4 displays. Just make sure your iGPU isn't disabled in bios.

This one supposedly supports 6 monitors at once, using 4x DP, 2x HDMI:

From what I could find, this one does as well (see "Key Features"), but you'll need MST hubs:

5700 XT dropped to 4 displays max, that's why they carefully changed the wording to say "6 display outputs" instead of "supports 6 displays".

Good to know. I was somewhat surprised to find multiple Reddit topics claiming it could do six. I did notice the "6 display outputs" marketing speak on ASRock's site, but at the same time it's coupled with an image that shows six monitors… 😞

Thank you everyone for your help.  I'm going to go with 2 cards, which ones, I am not sure yet but I'll make sure, I lean on the budget side and probably go with NVidia due since it appears they support their hardware longer.
