thermal paste and pads

call me al
guys pls help
i have 3 gpus (gigabyte rtx 3070, msi rtx 3090, evga rtx 3090), i want to change the thermal paste and pads on all of them.
how do i know how much thermal pads i will need in total, i will get all thinkness ranging from 0.5-3 mm. but how much in size will i need ?

Why do you feel the need to change the paste,  let alone the pads?

 

They aren't maintenance items.

 

There are schematics of all those cards online, if not use the reference one and add a little extra.

Why are you changing the thermal pads?

Those are pretty new GPUs, I probably wouldn't tear those things open just to refresh thermal pads and paste. Probably a good chance you cause more problems by doing a full tear down.

Do the cards have actual issues? If not you might just create issues.

CPU : Ryzen 7 7800X3D @ -18mv all core except -13mv on Core 5 because its a pig.

2 gpus run hot, in the summer they can reach 85 degrees Celsius. And the vram more than 100

And i thought i should change also for the third card. Since i have doubts that the previous user did use them in mining.

The 3090's all have hot running vram and there's not really much you can do about it without some pretty extensive modifications to the card.

 

Also the 85c you say they are running at , Is that the GPU hotspot or the normal GPU Edge temp like displayed in most reporting software?

I will have to check again the monitoring software, i have msi afterburner and the hwmonitor

1080Ti's run at 84c 24/7, and the 3000 series are hotter.  

 

They're only a couple years old, and unless you are able to improve cooling, leave them alone.  Stock cooling is applied well usually, and there are a lot of threads here about hotter temps after jacking with them.

 

GPU's are not made to be torn apart, like a CPU and CPU Cooler setup.

Check air flow in the case and ramp up the fan speed. Simple.
