Upgrading My Old Gaming Desktop

I got this asus Z590 gundam edition and I7 11700KF

Should I upgrade to a I9 14th gen or wait for the ryzen 5?

if you're patient you should probably wait... if not 14th gen is a great upgrade

What is it struggling with you want more CPU specific performance for?

11700KF isn't a slouch and can provide LOW Detail gaming in the Hundreds of FPS and with GPU bound settings it'll hit 60-120fps pretty easily in most games that are not problematic ports...

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
