AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D GPU choice

I'm planning on building a pc with the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and I'm not sure what GPU to pair it with, the best value for money one I found was the Radeon RX 7600 XT (mainly because of it's high vram capacity) but I can't find any builds with this setup, only with an RX 7800 XT, so maybe people don't build it because it'll cause a bottleneck?

And if it is a bottleneck, what other option would be recommended for a GPU, or maybe a different CPU?

What resolution are you playing at and which games?

For 1080p or 1440p/60, then the 7600 XT would be alright, but really I'd expect a 7800X3D to be paired with at least a 7800 XT, or 4070 Super.

A 7600 XT is more appropriate for a 7500F build.

7800X3D is the best gaming CPU on the market right now. Usually people pair it with a top tier GPU.

It makes sense if your planning a GPU upgrade later down the line. Other than that, u'd get better performance with a cheaper CPU and better GPU.

7800xt is the lowest id go with a 7800x3d new build, how much further up the stack you wanna go is up to you.

  • 4 weeks later...

I have a 7900xt with my 7800x3d and it works like a treat.

I recommend taking the time to save for a good GPU and CPU combo so there is no extra performance left on the table. the 7800x3d is overkill for anything less than a 7800xt tbh.
