Got myself a new motherboard with 2 M.2 slots, and M.2 ssd is not recognized.

Go to solution Solved by xilancom,

I just rebooted PC an another time and it worked, problem solved, no idea how, but solved 🙂

After getting a new motherboard, cpu and an another M.2 ssd, the ssd doesn't show up in disk management, I already tried searching for new drivers on device manager and it says that all the drivers are up to date. The ssd itself does show up in the bios tho, anyone knows how to fix that?

What is the motherboard, CPU and M.2?

Have you tried switching the M.2 drives around?

The motherboard is the Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2, R7 5700x and the M.2 is Crucial P3. I haven't tried switching them around yet, the M.2 also shows up in the task manager

Hmm, did the M.2 have anything on it previously, or is it literally brand new?

I'd give a couple of things a try:

- 1. Sit in the BIOS for awhile (e.g. 10 minutes).

- 2. Clear CMOS, if you haven't already.

- 3. Reseat the drive. I assume there's no M.2 standoff in the wrong place under it, or anything silly like that?

Edit: Cool!
