ALC1200 vs ALC892? Does it matter?

Folktale

Is ALC892 bad if you are using 5.1 channel sound or using headphones? I an not an audiophile but don't want interference from a cheaper or bad board audio.

It's pretty bad compared to the latest ones. What are you using with your onboard?

PM or DM me if you have any questions about audio.

What is your budget for an amp/DAC / soundcard?

It'll depend on the motherboard. Cheap boards tend to skimp on things but even then it's usually fine.

I'm of the general sentiment that onboard audio has been good enough for a VERY long time. If you're getting line noise, that's another issue.

It's a thing online where people will tell you spend $100+ on a DAC and/or amp when you have $50 speakers and in most cases this is a bit out there.
You probably don't need either of those until you're in the $300+ range on speakers or you're doing something a bit more sophisticated. If you have to ask what sophisticated means... you're not doing something sophisticated. Spending money on the thing MAKING the sound should be your first priority.
