Schiit Fulla 2 Alternatives for DT770 Pro

Hello everyone, 

I got a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro's 250Ohm, my plan currently is to pair them with a Shiit Fulla 2 so I can have good sound and MIC input. The only thing I have been thinking is that rigth now I do not have any external speakers, and if I decide later that I want to add a couple, then I would have to change the whole setup again, so I was thinking on just go ahead and spend more now and save some later. I just can't figure out what combination of devices would give me DAC/AMP with MIC in and speakers out. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thank you!

There is the Mayflower ARC Mk2 @ $285. Pricey. Integrated DAC, headphone amp, mic input and analog RCA output for speakers. Unclear if the RCA out is line level or a pre-amplifier but either should be fine, would just affect if the device itself would control volume or if you'd have to rely on the amplifier of whatever speakers you use. The RCA output on my Schiit Magni is a pre-out.

There may be other options, i'm just not familiar off the top of my head.

There is no reason you can't just add what's called a "power amplifier" to the output of the fulla.  That's what I do and I currently use a crown xli1500.

 

There is no reason to get something that big and powerful, it's just an example.  My point being that the RCA output on the fulla will work with a separate amp.

 

If that doesn't work for you I also use the Emotiva BasX100 superseded by the BasX A2M.  But again that's going to need a dac.  The fulla can be just a dac, but I would recommend the Schiit Hel instead of the Fulla in this instance.

There is no reason you need to use the Fulla in the future when you add speakers. You can just change the output in Windows and you're done.

You mean just do USB speakers directly to the MoBo? Where’s the fun in that!?!?

Thank you both for the suggestions! I’ll look into what would be best for me, audio stuff can get pretty expensive pretty quickly.
