I want to ask what ram config would be better for my laptop. I have a MSI Mordern 14 with a Ryzen 5 4500U.

I have two RAM configurations I can run:-

  • Single stick of 8gb DDR4 Ram running at 3200mhz
  • Dual Sticks of 8gb DDR4 Ram running at 2400mhz

So what would be better and why??

Depends what you're doing on your system. Normally more ram even if it's at a lower speed is better but if there's a specific application that you use that doesn't use much ram and favours higher ram speed then go for the 3200mhz single stick

But I would personally use the 2x8 version even if it's running at a lower speed since it's double the capacity for still 75% of the speed so not too much performance should be lost in the speed but you'll be able to multitask easier

Not to mention that these two sticks should run in dual channel. Two 2400 MT/s sticks running in dual channel should give you the same bandwidth as a single stick running at 4800 MT/s.

Remember to either quote or @mention others, so they are notified of your reply
