Hello Guys,

Its been a while since I've created my first build for 600 USD. I am currently on a i3 12100f and an a770. I got myself an a770 for only 210 dollars on black friday, thinking it might be a good deal. However, I was wrong. The a770 is not at all what I expected, not getting as much fps as I would like. I would also like to upgrade my cpu, since I would then be able to get a better gpu later. Recently, I was able to save up 350 dollars to upgrade my computer and  i'm not sure what to do. I couldd upgrade my cpu to a 13600k or a 12700k and save the rest of the money to upgrade my gpu later, or I could upgrade my gpu to a used 3070, a new 4060, or a 6750 xt. However, each of these options would either cause gpu bottleneck or cpu bottleneck. I want to get the best performance as possible, and it takes me a while to save money to upgrade my pc, so I won't be able to upgrade this computer in a while after this upgrade. I don't care about raytracing or what brand the gpu comes from or if it is used/refurbished as long as it performs well. I would, however, need a lga 1700 cpu if I were to upgrade my cpu. I've checked both of my upgrade options (cpu and gpu) and both would cause some bottlenecks. Could anyone give me suggestions on how i could upgrade my computer for 350 USD or less and get the best performance? I would like to play high to ultra high settings in most games in 1080p.

seems about same performance you'd expect from an A770:

Don't worry about the GPU being the bottleneck. I would say upgrade the cpu, but see if you have re bar enabled first. Then decide from there.

Also, how bad can it be? If it is more than playable with no hitches, you may fine for now.

wouldn't upgrading my gpu get more fps? even if the cpu would be a bottleneck, the gpu would still get better performance than upgrading the cpu. or would it? I do have rebar enabled.

Yes, but I plan on getting Cyberpunk 2077. My computer probably won't run well on that.

You could check which one hit 100% first on the game you play The GPU or CPU. Like if the GPU hit 100% first then Replace the GPU. If the CPU hit 100% first than upgrade the CPU. if both of them doesn't reach 100% then we might have a cooling or system problem! Test it first so we could have a proper analysis based on data not speculation

A770 Arc can run Cyberpunk, just not RayTracing, if you fast forward to 16:20 on the video I sent above, the guy is benchmarking Cyberpunk on A770 around that mark
