Thermal paste

SNykjaer

Well, if you install a half decent cooler on that, it will press all the unneeded thermal paste to the side. So this will just goop up the transistor around the CPU. As long as the past isn't conductive, it isn't a problem. But it's kinda annoying.

I spam the shit out of my thermal paste applications so that looks pretty normal to me though im pretty sure thats whatd generally be considered alot of thermal paste

Doesnt matter though when i can get gd007 for 2$ a 7g tube or 6$ a 30g tube, and it looks like theres a new gd-2 thermal paste which is apparently even better and thats 5$ a 30g tube

"Pea sized amounts" remember,聽 "pea sized amounts" it doesn't matter if the initial application doesn't cover the entire CPU face as it will spread to a thin layer when the cooler is attached

Did you use the ENTIRE syringe of thermal paste?

You only NEED like 1/3 or 1/4 of that....jeez.

Yeah, Intel suggests pea-sized amount, but in my experience it's not enough for modern, quite large IHS-s. Rather a bean sized blob. But op has "over-buttered" the IHS, sure.

agreed, i usually do X 4 dots method... it doesn't use all that much and you can be pretty sure everything is going to be covered with a thin film at least...聽聽

never had issues with cpu temps,聽 the worst was when I oc my 2200g, thing tended to run around 90c on stock cooler, but even that wasn't a big issue lol.聽
