You have 0 reason to use windows 11 honestly, unless you have an HDR monitor (and even then its still pretty awful). As it stands now you dont gain anything from switching.

Windows 11 will pretty much be an Intel 12th/13th/14th gen+ requirement. I havent seen much regarding 7000 series AMD cpus. Some marginal differences here and there, but your specific CPU i dont see any real gain. Besides the normal fresh install type of benefits.

my brother was using a 10th gen intel system when he switched over to windows 11 and it was pretty terrible, and most of it was driver issues with NVIDIA geforce. He went back to 10 but is now on 11 and for him the driver issues seem to be fixed for intel at the moment. but I still have no idea about amd because it was broken from the start for amd users.

From what I've seen, Microsoft has made little to no improvement with the fundamental issues of Windows 11 surrounding bloatware and privacy. I just use Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC. It does everything Windows 11 can, but better.

^^^

i have it as a secondary os that i use for testing which resides on a 160gb hdd, seems to be about as good as windows 7 but its far better in terms of being able to switch between a ton of hardware and not have to make a new install, so lga 775 -> lga 1150 for example itll do better, and also support till like 2032 iirc

Yep. Though, I strongly recommend getting an SSD. $17 for a cheapo 128GB SSD on Amazon and you're set.

120/128gb drives are around 10$ but not worth buying nor are the 240/256gb drives at 15$ worth buying either as 500/512gb ssds are ~20$
