Help! Help Help! Dual gpu Pc build for obs

Hello to all the members! I am new to this community and am seeking some answers.

I already have a PC built with an i7-12700K processor and an RTX 3090, but I want to record using OBS primarily and possibly stream later on. However, when I currently record with OBS, even with a 25000 bitrate using NVENC H.264, the quality is not satisfactory. I've tried numerous settings, but unfortunately, I haven't achieved the desired quality while maintaining smooth gameplay.

So, I am considering three options:

Option 1: Work around with my current setup.

Option 2: Purchase an RTX 40 series GPU for AV1 encoding.

Option 3: Buy an Intel A380 as a second GPU in my build specifically for recording gameplay.

I appreciate any advice or suggestions you may have on improving my recording and streaming setup.

Are you not able to crank the bitrate higher? On my 2080 I have OBS doing 60,000Kbps (or 60Mbps) and ShadowPlay doing around 100Mbps with no noticeable impact to framerates.

have you thought about getting a 2nd pc with a capture card, just plug hdmi out into the capture card then from the other slot to your monitor, from that you can do all of the processing on the other computer which will not put any strain on your current one or (most likely) half your pcie bandwidth as it would be a x8 slot as compared to a x16 even if you got a 2nd gpu still hurting your pc

you could get a cheap pc off of marketplace and an extra gpu as well and avoid limiting your performance.

i'm not to sure about encoding etc. but from an impact on recording or streaming whilst it would cost more may be better for you

if encoding works well on a cpu maybe an old server with a xeon might be good

Unfortunately at 25Mbps there's only so much quality you can squeeze out, extra GPUs won't do you any good there. If 35Mbps is making your games fucky I would at least give ShadowPlay a shot even though it is pretty damn annoying to use sometimes.
