should i sell my ps4 pro or keep it?

avidgamer121

so i am having trouble running newer games such as alan wake at playable fps even at lowest settings with my 1050 ti and in future it only gonna get worse so i was thinking would it be better to keep the ps4 because not only for it's 4k capability but also as i get a 4k tv recently (though we have a ps5 as well).

As my gpu upgrade plan got cancelled, my brother is offering me his ps4 pro instead and for that he is also borrowing a 24 inch sony bravia tv from his friend. I am thinking it would be a good alternative to pc gaming as my gpu is barely capable of running anything nicely of late so ps4 pro would give me decent experience for quite sometime.

I'd keep the PS4 Pro.

The 1050ti isn't and never really was a gaming GPU so you'll get a much better gaming experience with the PS4 Pro, at least for the time being.

I watched my girlfriend play Horizon Zero Dawn on our PS4 Pro and was pretty impressed with how it looked.

I'm a bit of a gaming snob so decided to buy it on Epic but apart from the 120fps I was able to push on my PC, I thought the PS4 Pro did a pretty damn good job given its age.

Are you drunk?!?… you can’t be serious.

I am not going to deny the fact that it’s too old for modern gaming, but to say it was never a gaming card is surprising from a member of the forum. The PS4 pro has a better gpu (like one step up) but slower cpu, and you arenot playing modern games on that either.

I think the real benefit of the PS4pro is going to be that the games were tailored to it, so the experience should be pretty easy going.

what a coincident, i just got the ps4 from my brother like couple of hours ago. BTW, yeah 1050 ti was decent for it's time but it's time to move on ig, i would be mainly gaming on the ps4 until i get a new gpu. When it was 1050 ti era, i used to have 750 ti which did pretty ok in most games so i do think he's wrong in that regard as well, 1050 ti is equivalent to what 750 ti was in those days.

Nope, stone cold sober! Very serious.

In just raw compute power alone, the PS4Pro is double that of the 1050ti and we haven't even got into the consoles optimisation side of things.

Maybe 'isn't and never really was a gaming GPU' was too strong of a statement but xx50 series cards from Nvidia have never been more than low to mid tier at best even the ti variants.
